This is Poplar Forest in Forest, Virginia. It was the retreat home of Thomas Jefferson. If you think that it looks like Monticello, sort of. It resembles the design.
This is the ‘Field of Lost Shoes’ at the New Market Battlefield in New Market, Virginia. The field gets its name from the soldiers who lost their shoes while walking across the field.

Hello America. I am George Meade, a veteran of the United States Military who fought to free those who were in bondage from those who had put them in bondage. I was proud to serve my country. Why? I want people to be free, and the Veterans of the United States Military did just that. They sacrificed their very own lives so that you, the American people, could enjoy those Veterans Day sales. They sacrificed their very own lives so that you, the American people, could enjoy those Veterans Day concerts. They sacrificed their very own lives so that you, the American people, could enjoy those Veterans Day parades. They sacrificed their very own lives so that you, the American people, could enjoy the day off. They sacrificed their very own lives so that you, the American people, could enjoy freedom. They served under very horrid, awful, horrible, distasteful, dangerous, hazardous, deadly conditions protecting you from those who seek to annihilate you. Without them, there would be no sales, parades, concerts, days off or freedom. They gave their very own lives for you, the American people. Every American owes their lives to those who protected them from annihilation, from those who seek to destroy and abolish all freedom and peace. Next time you see a veteran, show him great gratitude. They deserve too much of it. I am George Meade. Have A HAPPY VETERAN’S DAY. Remember the Veteran’s this very day.
You stupid, hideous, worthless, filthy rotten, evil Americans, I am Adolph Hitler, the greatest leader in the history of the world. How dare you honor the people who destroyed my evil plans to rule the world? How can you do such a thing? My mission was to rule the world, but your veterans destroyed my armies and my evil plans. This world belonged to me and me alone, yet your veterans took it away from me. Now you set a day aside to honor them. How awful. You need to set aside a day to honor me, not them. I am the greatest leader in the history of the world. Your veterans ruined my evil plans. You wiped out my armies. You killed my loyal men. You destroyed my weapons. You bombed my military bases. You destroyed my camps that were being used to exterminate those who did not belong in this world. Do you not know that with me ruling the world that there would be no more wars because I would be the only leader? I was ridding the world of things and people that did not belong in this world, but your veterans protected those people. Now I am ruined, ruined, ruined. You say that they fought for freedom. You do not need freedom. You need me. I know better. Therefore, set a day to honor me and not your veterans. It will make a day much better.
