This is the old train depot from Stapleton, Virginia. It was relocated to the Old City Cemetery in Lynchburg, Virginia. It was brought here to be saved from demolition, and many of the workers of the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad which owned this depot are buried in this cemetery.

When this train station was decommissioned, there was no more passenger rail service to Roanoke, but an Amtrak station opened nearby in October of 2017 bringing passenger service back to the city.
