You arrive at the Manassas National Battlefield. You see a nice and peaceful field before you. You see the statue of ‘Stonewall’ Jackson on his house looking towards Matthews Hill. You take out your camera. You look through the lens and see a line of Confederate soldiers on each side of ‘Stonewall’ Jackson who is sitting on his horse. You pull the camera away, and you see a field with cannons, a few trees, monuments, and you see the statue of ‘Stonewall’ Jackson on his horse. You look through the lens to take a photo, and you see smoke from the guns of the soldiers and the cannons. The sky is full of smoke. You set your camera down, and you see a green field with the statue of ‘Stonewall’ Jackson. You look into the lens again, and you see men lying dead with some bodies in pieces with the blood staining the grass. You see ‘Stonewall’ Jackson on his horse looking at the battle before him. You set the camera down, and you see the peaceful green field. You look through the lens again, and you take the photos of the soldiers in formation. You take the photos of the soldiers firing their guns and cannons. You take the photos of the bodies of the dead with the blood covering the grass. Then, most of all, you take that photo… that photo of General Thomas Jackson on his horse standing there like a ‘stone wall’. You stop, and you see the green and peaceful field with the cannons and that statue of ‘Stonewall’ Jackson. This is the battlefield.
