Once I was broken,
beaten and down
then came my Savior
to bring me around.
Who would believe it,
who would have known
Jesus thought of me . . .
as one of His own.
He lifted me up,
high off the ground
making my steps
solid and sound.
Heavenly blessings,
He wants to give
sinful indiscretions
He came to forgive.
He lifted me up,
high off the ground
making my steps
solid and sound.
Angels of mercy,
He sends my way
helping me to walk
on these feet of clay.
Once I was broken,
beaten and down . . .
but, because of Jesus
I’ll receive life’s crown!
