Sometimes that old man,
sneaks his way back in
for our souls he wants
to repossess and win.
So he taunts us with our past,
dangling in front of us
the delights we once found
in our former worldly lusts.
He tells us we needn’t be,
so committed to God’s Word
that we can still find delight
if the truth could be blurred.
He tantalizes us with things,
once giving us such pleasure
telling us they’re more rewarding
then our heavenly treasure.
Sometimes that old man,
in our lives creeps back in
but we who are saved . . .
know he is all about the sin!
