Blessed are the hungry,
those who daily need
the Word of God
their faith to feed.

For they know His Word,
is the true Bread of Life
and without it their souls
would suffer eternal strife.

Blessed are the thirsty,
those who daily want
all of the mercies
for them God has got.

For they understand,
their fallen nature
and how through Jesus
they are a new creature.

Blessed are the hungering
and all those thirsting . . .
for living righteously
they are constantly striving!
