PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA. A church was having a picnic. Many people from all over the community came to the picnic and had a great time. There was plenty of food for everyone to eat. When it was all over, everyone left leaving piles and piles of garbage. The pastor asked, “What are we going to do?”
On the other side of the city, Jerome Benjamin was playing basketball with his friends at a high school. He got a sense of something. He told his friends, “I have to go. Something has come up.”
He left the court and went down and alley to put on his clothes. He became Garbageman. He got into his garbage truck and drove down the streets to the church. He got out of the truck, went over to the pastor, and said, “I will save you from your garbage.”
“Garbageman,” said the pastor. “I am glad to see you.”
Garbageman took the garbage and put it into his truck. In a matter of seconds, all of the garbage was gone. The pastor said, “Thank you, Garbageman. We couldn’t have done it without you.”
Garbageman replied, “Just doing my call of duty.”
Garbageman got into his truck and drove off. Another day was saved by Garbageman.
