Rushed to the Last Train

Grounds For Hope

Fresh snow on roads -
On frozen puddles of yesterday’s rain.
Past, present, and future packed in one suitcase
Can this be real? Did the world go insane?
Rushing to catch the last train to freedom,
Pushing through crowds, confused and lost souls.
Leaving behind a beloved home that became a prison
Under the siege, under the tyrant’s control.
Screams of the sirens – the sentence to death -
The last that reached ears
Satan came to claim a child’s last breath
The mournful requiem to linger for years
Then stillness.
Then silence.
Then eternal rest…
