This year I am going to be,
ready, sober and alert . . .
I’m not going to let anything
my trust in God to divert.

I will be ever watchful,
by keeping both my eyes
for Jesus in the clouds
descending in the skies.

This year I’m going to pray,
for the strength to escape
those who are trying to . . .
my faith in God reshape.

My ears will be listening,
for that trump to sound
so in the air with Jesus
I too will be found.

This year I’m going to be,
mindful of satan’s snare
so until Jesus comes . . .
I’ll remain alert and aware!
