Princess Andrea was bound in chains. Her shoes were removed. She looked up and saw the stake.
“Why are you doing this to me?” She cried.
“King’s orders,” the executioner said.
“Why?” she asked.
“King’s orders,” he said. “We do not question the king’s orders.”
The men pulled her towards the stake. She dug her toes into the ground to resist but to no avail. They put her at the stake and tied her to it. She tried to untie the ropes with her toes, but the ropes did not budge. She felt hopeless and doomed. She saw her life coming to an end. The men grabbed their torches and were about to light the fire.
The king and queen rode their horses to the princess.
“What are you doing?” The king was furious.
“We are burning the princess at the stake as you commanded us to do,” the executioner replied.
“You idiot.” The king was very mad. “I said fix her a steak, not burn her at the stake.”
“Oh,” the executioner said.
The queen ran to the princess and untied her. “Removed the chains.” She shouted.
The chains were removed. She hugged her father and mother. The executioner was put in jail, and the princess was given a nice steak dinner.
