Cut Me Loose Lord ~

CHRISTian poetry ~ by deborah ann

Cut me loose Lord,
of all the things
that come with
worldly strings.

Chop away the desire,
whack off the lust
for any of the things . . .
that’ll only turn to rust.

Strip me down Lord,
of all on me weighing
the things keeping me
to the world ways swaying.

Show me just where,
there is still sin hiding
so that back into it
I won’t keep sliding.

Cut me loose Lord,
from all weighing me down
so I may run the race . . .
and gain my victor’s crown!

Hebrews 12:1

let us lay aside every weight,
and the sin which doth so
easily beset us, and let us run
with patience the race that
is set before us,
