I really do enjoy the in between seasons and especially the autumn. The colours are so beautiful this time of year and my walks in nature always put me in such a mellow mood. Yesterday lunchtime’s stroll was no exception and it was particular relaxing to write the following poem.
Seasonal
I saunter down the sleepy slope
The fields are freshly ploughed
The leaves like fall’s kaleidoscope
Revered by sun and cloud
I must confess, I’m at my best
between the fiercer seasons
Angelic autumn, I’m impressed
Your calm inspires my freedom
Forget the beats of wild hot heat
No need for frozen flavours
Prefer the fancy at my feet
Of fallen gold to savour
This time of year brings warmth and hope
Those heard do not shout loud
So I shall saunter on and float
beside fields freshly ploughed
