Butterflies Bloom

Rum and Robots

Poetry by Joni Caggiano – Photo by James Kampeis on Pexels.com

tonight I whisper
to the scar
that lolls upon
my shoulder
you are but a
mere fragment
of my flesh

covering you
with star dust
your power
severed
only an artless
reminder of
eras past

petals weave
love on frayed
traces of grief
hummingbirds
kiss my temples
love emerges
a butterfly

she flies away
distance winds
sing her name
oh creature
of peace
come now
let me love you
