From Despair To Hope ~

From despair to hope,
from misery to ecstasy
are those who Jesus . . .
makes not their enemy.

For they’ve tasted mercy,
the truth they have kissed
His peaceful righteousness
they have not dismissed.

From dismay to trust,
from heartbreak to relief
are those who though faith
now have a grace belief.

For though they’re fraught,
troubled and stressed
they know just how much
they are truly blessed.

From desperation to hope,
from emptiness to rapture . . .
are the hearts and souls
Jesus has captured!

We are troubled
on every side,
yet not distressed;
we are perplexed,
but not in despair;

Persecuted,
but not forsaken;
cast down,
but not destroyed;

Always bearing about
in the body the dying
of the Lord Jesus,
that the life also of Jesus
might be made manifest
in our body.

Psalm 85:10

Mercy and truth
are met together;
