Christmas Brew

Peacock Poetry

Yesterday after making a cup of tea for my partner Andy it seemed to be taking rather a long time for him to come down from his computer gaming session and consume it! Feeling a little on the idle side (as my dear Grandma would have said!) I decided to pen a little ode to the lonely teacup. Even the smallest of occurrences can turn creative if you let them! Merry Christmas!

Lonesome Beverage

The lonely tea cup waited there

upon the worktop surface

It acted like it didn’t care,

but your indifference hurt it

To sit and stew made it turn blue

and tea should not be tainted

It longed for just one sip from you

Its heart felt perforated

Come drink me now, the brew declared

You’ll see, it will be worth it!

But please don’t leave me waiting there

upon the worktop surface!
