As I walked by the river at dusk on Wednesday, I was struck by a feeling of painful beauty. We are living through such strange times and yet the seasons are still turning, revealing many chances to also be grateful.
Double-edged Chord
There is a beauty in the sadness of the weeping sky
A tenderness within the madness, holding you and I
There is a twinkle through the trees although the darkness haunts
I savour bursts of love like these, don’t let the worries taunt
There is a chord of hopefulness in melancholy’s tune
Our loved ones are still there for us though some have left too soon
Thee is a tone of peacefulness that’s present through the strangeness
Awareness has increased in us, new normal’s rearranged us
This feeling maybe you have had this too, oh heartfelt sigh
There is a beauty in the sadness of the weeping sky
