As a words person I am all too aware of the power of what we choose to say. I am equally to sensitive as to what others say and often feel like I ingest words on a cellular level! These days though, if I feel unfairly judged or wronged, I am usually able to take a pause and observe the fact that these words don’t belong to me. Much of the criticism that people direct towards us is projection after all.

You do not have to wear their words

You’re not the names they called you

You aren’t the judgments that you heard

Don’t let their bullshit fool you

The box they try to put you in

The words they choose to frame you

Don’t take them on, don’t let them win

For who are ‘they’ to shame you?

You are how you so choose to be
