On Saturday morning we intended to go for one of our hearty walks but awoke to a miserably rainy start. It was too wet to set out even by our British standards and so we battened down the hatches and stayed in until the storms cleared. The afternoon was sunny and warm – hardly recognisable in face from the grizzly morning. The contrast made our afternoon walk all the more enjoyable I have to say!
Respite
What joy when sunshine reappears
after the sullen storms
A newfound sense of hope appears
Our energy reforms
Through conkered paths, we walk and laugh
Observe the veg that’s growing
These days who knows what’s meant to last
Let nature do the showing
For crazy seems to be the norm
There’s plenty of it here
And sunshine always follows storms
and joy cracks through the tears
