It was so lovely to discover that the Hotel Nautilus was as lovely inside as we had imagined when deciding to stay there the next time we were in Poetto. The stripy nautical themed room sang with cleanliness and comfort and after completing my usual ritual of emptying my entire suitcase before venturing out, I just knew that we would have a peaceful stay!

Poetto Pause

Despite dramatic inundation

I’ve no urge to paddle

I’m melting into relaxation

Here at Devil’s Saddle

A cone or two for me and Drew

Cassata is my flavour

Bono’s joint has quite a queue

Sit by the sea and savour

Familiar whiffs of beach shrub drift

enhanced by salt air pump

A small dog with his right paw lifts

Some matted sea spew clump

I’m slowing down, this seaside town

Provides the space required

In our striped room I now lie down
