Peacock Poetry

Yesterday morning I started my day with a two hour walk in the forest. It was a beautiful moment of solitude and I felt a familiar sense of gratitude for how held I always feel in the arms of nature. I decided I would try my hand at recording the poem just after I’d written it to catch the moment and I find it relaxes me to listen back.

Forest Bathing

Deep within the forest arms self-love finds its expression

Comparisons all fade away as does the soul’s suppression

There’s freedom here, fresh signs appear, I open to what’s calling

A greater sense of truth is near, into its trust I’m falling

Deep within the forest’s heart the birdsong offers choices

We cannot hear ourselves until we silence social voices

What others think is their spilled ink, the mystery’s universal

We’re full of kinks, our hearts still pink, this is…
