As we meandered down the Poetto promenade back in April 2018, we came across a beach beetle which was on his back and struggling. After having encouraged Android to flip the poor bugger back over I decided to capture his fate poetically, wishing him good luck on his onward journey!
Bewildered Beach Beetle
You laid there, dark, upon beach path
Position somewhat foetal
Gigantic? Scary? – well not ‘alf !
Just like a sci-fi beetle!
All shiny black on the sand track
Your legs upturned and pedalling
I said to Android – flip him back –
there’s just no point in meddling!
With torso grooved, too smooth to move
I knew there was no messing
And just between myself and you
We fled and left him guessing!
