Wood for the Trees

Peacock Poetry

We are often too close to our personal challenges to be able to see them clearly and objectively. It is almost as if we become tangled in them and need to prise ourselves apart from personal attachment to gain perspective. What a difference though that space, sleep and rest can make. When we give our bodies and minds a break they can then start to serve us again and we start to see a way forward.

Exhalation

When we’re rested we perceive

the light through the confusion

When we step back, take time to breathe

We see the best solutions

Although our heart may be aggrieved

and it’s just one big nuisance

A little distance can achieve

perspective on delusion

When we’re tested, can’t believe

and stress makes its intrusion

A little rest then we perceive

the light through the confusion
