Sundown Crown

Peacock Poetry

Yesterday Andy and I had the privilege of seeing a beautiful sunset after a tasty barbecue in the garden. Sunsets are something that I never want to get complacent about as they are such a treat from nature and provide a memorable close to each day for those who choose to notice them. Today’s poem is a tribute to yesterday’s spectacular show.

Sundown

As we rose, you descended

A giant blood-orange button, glazing the somniferous hillside with eye-catching presence

Witnessing your dazzling departure felt like a snatched moment of egg-yolk ecstasy

(A nucleus far too grand however for the likes of soldier dipping!)

This is a very special set of circumstances,

with countless undulations and yet

the chance exposure to your effusive exit

leaves me inspired to

Glow on
