Drink it In

Peacock Poetry

We are not always comfortable with leaving space to be with life and to receive its message. As I walked past a familiar field one day I couldn’t help but notice a freshly ploughed field, prompting me to ponder on the power of opening to the nutrients of life.

Recipients

The ridges in the peaty plough

Allow the soil to drink

Reminding me this morning how

The gaps help us to think

When we’re in place, don’t fill the space

The goodness can begin

To swill out surplus interface

As nutrients spill in

Let’s not write off our need for troughs

Let’s breathe into our well

To treat yourself to some time off

Renews our thirsty cells

For “Yes” the answer is to “How?”

And now I feel the link

The ridges in the peaty plough

Allow the soil to drink
