Peacock Poetry

Whilst Andy’s family were staying with us over Christmas we decided to do a day trip to Mount Rigi. The weather did not look great but we had bought reduced day tickets in advance and so risked it for a biscuit and a fab day was had by all!

Festive Fate

The forecast didn’t look that great

But we decided to tempt fate

and ventured out to Lake Luzern

In hope the weather wouldn’t turn

Upon the boat we then consumed

some coffees as the next leg loomed

and soon we gazed through steamed up panes

Upon the winding old cog train

We chugged uphill, our journey slow

The fir trees dusted with fresh snow

Each step beyond a touch more white

and on the peak, quite blizzard like

Thank goodness for warm food and beer

That warmed our chilly hands and ears

Contented on our downward ride
