Peacock Poetry

At the weekend I had an early start and decided to make the most of the morning light and to walk to the station. The sky was a beautiful pink and there was not a soul in sight and I was filled by a sense of appreciation. As I boarded the train, I took with me a new, serene energy which accompanied me for the rest of the day.

Grateful Glimpse

It’s beautiful to walk alone

In morning’s pink and powdered tones

To cast my feet upon the street

Where diamond leaves my soles do meet

It’s wonderful with my two ears

The melody of birds to hear

As they in gentle cheep converse

And solitude skips through my verse

It’s humbling to know that we’re

A part of something bigger here

Outside I have a sense of home

How beautiful to walk alone
