Sold on Autumn’s Gold

Peacock Poetry

The early autumn is a constant poem in the writing out here in Switzerland. I cannot get enough of the bright, still days when the sun is low and there is a stunning dance of shadow and light outside. I am officially falling for the Fall all over again!

Blending Season

The shadows of the turning

Bring contrast and bring thrill

No more wild summer’s burning

The sun is low and chilled

Less urgency and fervour

A golden peace resides

Contented birdsong murmurs

Coo through the soft blue sky

How can I not be grateful?

For this is autumn bliss

My heart is wide and wakeful

On peaceful days like this

For nothing I’m now yearning

There is so much good will

The shadows of the turning

Bring contrast and bring thrill
