Rest in the Nest

Peacock Poetry

Today’s little ditty came to me after a conversation with my fellow tribe mate Helena. She left me a WhatsApp voice message in which she described nature as being “like a nest” to her. This resonated with me so much that I couldn’t help but write about it. Click to hear the live version of the poem :

Nature’s Nest Live

Nature’s Lullaby

Nature’s like a nest

My heart with birdsong sings

Protects me from unrest

Gives feelings space and wings

Content now I am cradled

Cocooned by leafy arms

I know deep down I’m able

Soothed by the bark’s sweet balm

This life is full of twists

Just can’t ignore the call

And how I craved for this

No longer could I stall

A place my soul can rest

Don’t have to do a thing

For nature’s like a nest

My heart with birdsong sings
