Kite Delight

Peacock Poetry

This morning’s offering was penned on my arrival at Sitges two weeks ago. I had enjoyed a lazy lunch with a fellow course participant and decided to go for an evening stroll along the beach to clear my mind before the retreat started. The promenade was quiet than it had been during the day and there were was a sense of harmony and freedom, epitomised by the flags being flown by the locals.

Sitges

The whipped white waves send friendly froth

Across the happy bay

A jellyfish kite flys above

and it’s been quite a day

No matter what our human lot

The beach brings back our bounce

Must make the most of what we’ve got

for joy is what amounts

There’s still a chill which adds more thrill

to sea breeze light and salted

Each time the sea my heart fulfils

My soul; alive and jolted
