Accentuate the Positive

Peacock Poetry

A song that appears on many of my jogging playlists is “Accentuate the Positive” by Bing Crosby. I actually listen to the Sam Cooke version and can often be found smiling away whilst jogging along to this track as it reminds me of my Dad’s unfailing positivity and trust in the good. I come back to this anchor every time I feel fear and doubt and it warms and empowers me in a subtle yet strong way.

Greater Good

Believing in the good

Requires us to trust

We are not planks of wood

And faith in life’s a must

When we perceive the bountiful

beyond material wealth

We’re open to what’s plentiful

Who is your higher self?

For right there where she’s stood

Regrets and doubts just rust

Believing in the good

Requires us to trust
